What is sen-say?
A system keyboard plus a coach and a thread auditor — built for the texting that crosses languages, cultures, and registers.
Why cross-cultural?
Most "AI texting" tools are built for native English speakers flirting with other native English speakers. That's a small slice of the texting that actually happens. The hard cases — and the ones where you need real help — are the cross-cultural ones: dating someone whose first language isn't yours, working in a Slack where everyone except you is from somewhere else, texting in-laws in a register you weren't raised in, learning a new language by actually using it.
sen-say is built for those cases first. Translation isn't a bolt-on; it's the spine. Tone sliders expose cultural register (formal/casual, direct/indirect, high/low context), not just "flirty/serious." The Cultural Compass exists because sometimes you don't know what you don't know.
What makes sen-say different
- Niche, not generic. We optimize for cross-cultural chat. We do not chase the dating-bro market.
- Privacy is the architecture. The free tier runs on your phone — your messages never leave the device. Plus and Premium pass requests to LLM providers in real time and discard them; we never store, log, or train on your content.
- Sounds like a real reply, not an AI. Drafts are coached toward your phrasing patterns, not flattened into a single AI-assistant tone.
- System keyboard. Works in WhatsApp, iMessage, Telegram, Slack, dating apps, anywhere you type. You don't have to copy-paste.
Where your data lives — and where it doesn't
On the free tier, all language processing happens on your device. On Plus and Premium, we forward requests to commercial LLM providers (Anthropic, Groq) and return the response; nothing about the message body is stored on our side. Full detail on the Privacy page.
Who built it
A small independent team. We've worked across English, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Portuguese, Vietnamese, Indonesian, and Tagalog texting in our own lives, and built sen-say because the existing tools didn't fit. We're reachable at hi@sensay.me — for support, partnerships, press, or feature requests.
